Dedicated, of course, to Italian varietals.  This consortium has a tasting at Fort Mason annually, sometime around October.  Highly recommended.

An organization that promotes the small winery (some of whom are families).  They also have a tasting event that, so far, hasn't been mobbed because its during the middle of the work week.  Highly recommended.
 Hospice du Rhone

 Hospice Du Rhone

Probably the largest consumer tasting event on the West Coast for Rhone varietals.  Takes place in Paso Robles each spring.  Highly recommended.

Kobrand Corporation owns a lot of wineries worldwide.  The strength of this website are the interactive maps of major wine regions with zoom in capabilities and full color.
Local Wine Events  Local Wine Events  For a more detailed listing of wine events across the nation AND internationally, go to Eric Orange's website.  You can sign up for automatic email notification of events anywhere in the world.
Rhone Rangers  Rhone Rangers  This is the California-based organization devoted to promoting varietals that originated from the Rhone Valley region of France.  Annual tasting event for consumers, usually held at Fort Mason, San Francisco.  This is the event to taste Syrah, Viognier, and other varietals.  Highly recommended.
 Slow Food Slow Food  You'll just have to go and surf this one.
 Wine Spectator  Wine Spectator  The quintessential wine magazine for consumers.  The online site is chock full of information that won't cost you a cent.
 Zinfandel Advocates and Producers Zinfandel Advocates & Producers ZAP is the organization devoted to Zinfandel and nothing else.  Sponsors one of the largest (if not THE largest) tasting in Northern California, usually held end of January at Fort Mason, San Francisco.  Regional events nationwide.

Official USA site for the German Wine Institute.  You can order a lot of educational material for little or no cost.
 German Wine Page  German Wine Page  Peter Ruhrberg is a German wine enthusiast living in Saarbrucken.  Good introductory website to German wines.
 German Wine Society German Wine Society  This is a consumer organization dedicated to German wines.  Some good basic information about grape varietals and you can join the organization to participate in their events.

 Italian Trade Commission  Italianmade.com Sponsored by the Italian Trade Commission, this is an excellent website chock full of information on Italian wines, cheese, and food.  Excellent overview on wine regions and you can download or order publications on wine and food.
 Giroscopio  Giroscopio Good, all-around website if you need travel planning.  This website can help zoom in on each region.
 Made In Italy OnLine  Made-In-Italy On-Line Extensive information on wine, food, fashion, shopping, and other subjects that are a passion for Italians.  Good wine information albeit rather text oriented.
